| Microsoft Has Confirmed Bugs in the Last April Update, KB5036980 |
When users try to change their profile picture on their PC by navigating to Settings > Accounts > Your Information and selecting "Choose File."
Settings app displaying an error message: "Account picture error. This picture cannot be saved. This error code: 0x80070520." This error indicates that Windows 11 is unable to save the new photo in the specified folder (AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\AccountPictures).

The company has said that it is actively working on a resolution and plans to release a fix in an upcoming update.
So that this problem can be fixed. Users can also try the manual method to change their local profile picture.
How to Fix Profile Photo Settings in Windows 11
- First of all, you have to go to (C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\AccountPictures).
- After this, an image has to be inserted into the folder. Then restart the computer.
