Microsoft's confirmation says it affects two recent Windows 11 updates: KB5036893 (a mandatory Patch Tuesday update) and KB5036980 (an optional update that introduces ads in the Start menu).

The company has said that it is actively working on a resolution and plans to release a fix in an upcoming update.
