Microsoft has released the September 2024 update to improve the Photos app on Windows 11. In this update, you will get to see many changes and features. In which the Photos app will launch even faster.

On the Photos app, you will get to see many types of customized features along with the support of iCloud. With the help of this, there will be a facility to open photos in large sizes as well as turn on or off the default features. 

Efforts are already underway to make many changes to the Photos app of Windows 11. The problem of the fast launch of the Photos app remains. There is a continuous improvement on it. Let us know about its features:

Rollout New Features & Changes to the Photos App

• Increase speed with a catch: 

Microsoft tried to open the Photos app faster through features called Windows App SDK. But in fact slowed down the app. Due to which now a new change has been offered in which they run the app in the background. That is, now whenever you open the app, a pop up will open. But it is already running in the background.

It's even better as some people don't like the app running in the background all the time. So Microsoft has added an option to turn it off. But they have also made it "on" by default.

• New ways to search your photos

The Photos app now has a better way of showing all your photos in one place. There's a "Gallery" option at the top that allows you to view photos from your computer, OneDrive, and even iCloud. If you're an Apple device user, a "This PC" section has also been added to make finding stored pictures easier.

 

• Search your photos with Bing

Microsoft has also added a feature to search for photos on web pages to improve search results. If you're looking at a photo in the app, you can click the "Visual Search with Bing" button. It will also let you search for information available on the images.

• iCloud support for Windows 10

Windows 10 users will now be able to use iCloud to view all types of stored photos on the Photos app. To do this, you have to install the iCloud app for Windows from the Microsoft Store and sign in with your Apple ID.

• Quick editing from File Explorer

Microsoft has made it easier to make quick edits to your photos. Now, you can right-click on an image file and choose "Edit in Photos" to open it directly in the editor. This will allow you to do quick crop, rotation or markup.

Microsoft has added some such new features to the Photos app. These features will start rolling out gradually. It is available only for Insider users. All these features will begin rolling out to all Windows 10 and 11 users by November.
